Westchester Stage Manager

Who are we hiring?
The Westchester Knicks are seeking a skilled Stage Manager to facilitate the execution of all live shots and on-court elements during the 2024-25 NBA G League season. This role is crucial for managing the flow of all performers both on the court and backstage, ensuring a smooth and organized game-day experience. The Stage Manager will work closely with the Event Presentation team to coordinate live performances, contests, and promotions, contributing to an engaging atmosphere for fans. This position reports directly to the Manager of Event Presentation.
The Westchester Knicks play 24 home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. Background checks will be administered through Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. and the NBA.
What will you do?
- Communicate directions and timing cues to the in-arena host and the 914 Squad to ensure seamless execution of game-day elements.
- Serve as the main point of contact for anthem performers, halftime acts, and special guests, coordinating their activities and ensuring smooth transitions.
- Oversee the management of all props and prizing, including maintaining an inventory of t-shirts and other promotional items.
- Attend all pre-game production meetings to discuss event logistics and ensure alignment with the Event Presentation team.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any on-the-spot issues that may arise during the game.
- Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Event Presentation.
What do you need to succeed?
- Ability to navigate high-pressure situations in a calm and professional manner.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment and make quick, effective decisions.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Commitment to professionalism, including punctuality and the ability to efficiently handle interactions with fans and performers.
- Previous experience in stage management and/or live production is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for effectively managing and directing a team.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment and maintain composure under pressure.
Special Requirements
- Available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with a start time 3 hours before game time.
- Must be available to work all Westchester Knicks home games throughout the season.
