Role Summary:

The Westchester Knicks are seeking to add a valuable member to our scorer’s table staff as an IDS Statistician, responsible for managing all in-game setup, for the 2024-25 NBA G League season. The NBA G League and Westchester Knicks use NBA Genius Sports Software for statistician duties, and we are looking to fill both primary and backup/rotational operator roles. This part-time position plays an essential role for the Westchester Knicks. The Westchester Knicks play 24-home games at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY. Background checks will be administered through the Madison Square Garden Sports Corp. and the NBA.

The IDS Statistician will provide onsite support for technological equipment, including laptops, printers, shot clocks, game clocks, Daktronics, and any other necessary equipment. Responsibilities include supply and inventory management, IDS Statistician(s) will directly work with and report to the Communications Coordinator of the Westchester Knicks.

The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external parties.

Specific Functions/Activities SUMMARY: 

• IDS Statistician(s) will directly work with and report to the Communications Coordinator of the Westchester Knicks.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and operate primary and secondary NBA Genius Sports Software equipment, including touch screen computers that input live data for website viewers and generate box scores throughout the game.
• Set up, troubleshoot, and monitor printer at the scorer’s table, responsible for printing statistical material for the Public Relations representative, broadcasters, team and front office personnel and media.
• Communicate, collaborate, and validate with NBA Genius Sports Help Desk before, during, and after the game to ensure signal connectivity and data accuracy.
• Arrive no later than three hours prior to tip-off.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Ability to work all or select Westchester Knicks home games, including weekends and holidays.
• Hands-on experience in hardware troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy to heavy equipment, such as laptops, monitors, and printers.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Highly motivated, with patience and a willingness to learn.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to remain calm and prioritize tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
• Previous experience working at a professional, college, or high school athletics scorer’s table is strongly preferred.
• Must be able to work professionally with officials, coaches, and players.
