Who are we hiring?
The Associate Communications supports the MSGE Communications team in the development and implementation of communications activities across Corporate, Live, and Productions areas. This includes concerts, comedy, family shows and special events, and the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes, as well as projects that extend across the enterprise and involve senior leaders. The Associate will collaborate with the team to conceptualize and execute press pitches and events; proactively conduct media outreach to secure coverage; draft and develop materials for interviews, speaking engagements, and award submissions; maintain the accuracy of corporate materials; and independently manage press at events. Additionally, the Associate will support department-wide administrative responsibilities as needed, including vendor contracting and invoicing, metrics tracking, ticket requests, and other related tasks.
What will you do?
- Support the Communications team on company announcements and initiatives aligned with key priorities; work closely with cross-functional teams.
- Execute PR activities for Christmas Spectacular; pitch, coordinate and cover media interviews, feature stories and appearances for the Rockettes interacting with media and show personnel.
- Write and distribute press releases, media alerts, and artwork for various events.
- Support the development of materials for senior leadership, including drafting awards submissions, interview briefing documents, and new hire / promotion press releases.
- Maintain accuracy of corporate assets including updating executive bios, boilers, etc.
- Drive PR efforts on one or more of the family shows, including crafting local PR plans, pitching interviews, ideating, creating and executing PR events, and obtaining coverage to support ticket sales.
- Support the management of onsite press and organize the PR-related flow around concerts and special events, which may involve coordinating with photographers, managing red carpet activity and facilitating onsite interviews and photo opportunities in high-profile situations.
- Work with Garden of Dreams Foundation on initiatives, opportunities and events that utilize the Company’s venues and brands to create press exposure for the Foundation.
- Help coordinate media training for Rockettes and executives to prepare them for interviews and panels they participate in on behalf of the Company.
- Facilitate Communications department-wide administrative duties, including supporting vendor contracting, facilitating ticket requests, tracking press coverage and metrics, etc.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, or a related field
- 2+ years of public relations experience.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
- Experience drafting press releases and media pitches, with exposure to developing and executing PR plans.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
- Proven ability to execute initiatives with strong follow-through; capable of leading portions of projects while contributing as a collaborative team member.
- Demonstrates high energy, commitment, and creativity.
- Exercises sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Knowledge of the entertainment industry, with comfort interacting with talent and senior-level executives.
