RANGERS AGREE TO TERMS WITH TIM GETTINGER
NEW YORK, July 22, 2022 – New York Rangers President and General Manager Chris Drury announced today that the team has agreed to terms with forward Tim Gettinger on a one-year contract extension.
Gettinger, 24, played much of his 2021-22 season with the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL), serving as an alternate captain, notching 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points and a plus-nine rating in 45 games. On Hartford last season, Gettinger ranked first in plus/minus, seventh in assists, tied for seventh in goals, and eighth in points. In addition, he skated in a career-high eight games for the Rangers in 2021-22, recording three shots.
In four seasons with Hartford, Gettinger has accumulated 49 goals and 49 assists for 98 points in 185 games. He has finished in the top-10 of Hartford scoring in each of those four seasons. The Cleveland, Ohio native has played in 16 career NHL games over a four-year span (2018-19 – 2021-22), tallying one assist. Gettinger was originally selected by the Rangers in the fifth round, 141st overall, of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft.
